WeedSmart Week 2024 – Port Lincoln, SA

WeedSmart Week 2024 was held in Port Lincoln, South Australia, and was our biggest event ever! With around 300 attendees, we were honoured to share the WeedSmart Big 6 messages with a wonderful audience, and platform local and interstate speakers who generously gave their time, expertise and experiences.

Thank you to all attendees, speakers, organisers and partners who helped us bring WeedSmart Week 2024 to life. And a big shout to our WeedSmart Team, including Regional Agronomists Chris and Jana, Greg, Paul and Pete, content writer Cindy, graphic designer Jo, communications lead Siobhon, and Project Managers Lisa and Karen.

Taking place from Monday July 29 to Tuesday July 30, WeedSmart Week in Port Lincoln was focused on sharing regional expertise and experiences from growers, agronomists and researchers, which was evident through the Day 1 Forum.

Hosted at the Port Lincoln Nautilus Arts Centre, we invited speakers to cover a range of topics relating to the WeedSmart Big 6, and welcomed around 300 attendees into the theatre.

On Day 2, we visited Michael and James Minhard in Cummins, viewing their tile drainage system. We followed this with morning tea viewing the results of the Reefinator rock-crushing machine.

Arriving at Jordy Wilksch Agriculture, at Freedom Hills, we kicked off the Machinery Expo over lunch, with our partners delivering informative talks to our 250-strong crowd. The day rounded off with drinks and a BBQ delivered by the Cummins Ag Team, backgrounded with the perfect sunset over Freedom Hills.
