In this episode of Regional Update, Shannon is joined by Cameron Schultz, a mixed sheep and cropping farmer from the southern Riverina in NSW.
Cam takes a proactive approach to managing herbicide resistance and aims to hit all of the Big 6 tactics, with a particular focus on the cultural strategies.
After a bit of trial and error, Cam has adopted a no-till disc system with 7.25 inch row spacings and higher seeding rates. He’s noticed the increased crop competition has greatly reduced his weed burden.
